The leadership team of the Upper Room
Dave is a Middleton lad brought up on Langley, and has lived in and around the area for many years. He is married to Angela and has three grown up children, Richard, Michael and Nadine.
As a young man Dave tried the Army but they didn’t take to him and so he trained in Engineering and has experience of many roles including managerial positions during his time spent at British aerospace when it was based locally on Greengate.
Dave and his family had been regular members of the Upper Room when in 2005 he was asked to take on the leadership of the fellowship at the Upper Room. He accepted the call to became our full-time minister and has been leading the fellowship ever since.
David has a passion to follow Jesus, to experience the fullness of His presence and power, to witness to others about salvation and to bring people into the fullness of life through training, equipping and the ministry of deliverance and healing.
Carl is also a Middleton lad, born and bred, and he has lived in Middleton all his life. He is married to Janet and they have two children Matthew and Claire.
Carl trained as a Chartered Building Surveyor and worked in property for many years before becoming a member of the Ops team for the famous World Wide Message Tribe a Christian schools band who worked in and around Manchester, and other famous places around the world.
More recently Carl set up a local charity called Inspire Middleton which seeks to inspire local people and organisations to get involved in helping Middleton become a better place to live, work and visit. Through the charity Carl is also the founder of the Lighthouse Project which is a successful drop-in community centre based in Warwick Mill, serving Middleton residents, close to the town centre.
Carl and Janet have been involved with the Upper Room since it was first set up; one of the church’s worship leaders and a Church Trustee. In 2005 Carl was asked to join Dave as one of the leaders of the Fellowship and since then they have been working together to build up the work and ministry of the Church.
