Doing new things – Men’s Breakfast
We enjoyed another successful Men’s breakfast on Saturday 29th Nov here at the Upper Room.
We were offered a well prepared selection of food cooked by our own team of volunteers and helpers, and after our hearty meal we were fed from the Word of God by Pastor Dave Morley who spoke about God wanting to do new things in our lives, to provide rivers in the desert. Everyone present received personal prayer and ministry at the end of the meeting.
A river flowing in the desert is a most unlikely place, some may call it a miracle, well God wants to do miracles in our lives and to work in the most unlikely areas of our lives.
This means that we have no excuses, because God can provide rivers of living water in any situation that we give him access to.
We were encouraged to take more responsibility for our walk with the Lord and within our families and the church, to enter into the things of God more and more. Dave spoke about Ezekiel who saw the river that flowed from the Throne of God, and how he progressively entered into the river. Once he started to do this Ezekeiel began to see the works of God more and more, trees of healing for the nations and for our communities.
God has made provision for us to bring healing to our community, in Isaiah 58 we are called ‘repairers of the breach… and restorers of streets to dwell in.’ Let us press into God and see the change that he does in us and what we can do within our community.
The date for the next breakfast is likely to be February 2015, watch out for the date. Don’t miss out.
